Curing Poison
Progressive Curing
* The first Cure Potion a player drinks every 30 seconds will now be a free consumption (players will get a system message telling them this occurred)
* Each consecutive failed attempt at curing poison now increases chance of the next attempt by a flat value equal to the unmodified base cure chance (before factoring in adjustments for Poison Skill, Taste ID, or Other Player Effects) assigned to the type of poison

Example of curing Deadly Poison inflicted by a player with GM Poisoning Skill and GM Taste ID:

* The base chance to cure Deadly Poison via Greater Cure Potion or GM Magery is 50% chance
* If they fail their cure attempt, their next attempt will receive a flat 50% bonus
* Poisons inflicted with GM Poisoning and GM Taste ID have their initial cure chance reduced by a scalar of 50% (i.e. 50% base cure chance becomes 25% cure chance)
* Subsequent attempts are still increased by the unmodified base cure chance as a flat percentage
* Base chance to cure Lethal Poison via Greater Cure Potion or GM Magery is 25% chance
* Poisons inflicted with 120 Poisoning and 120 Taste ID have their initial cure chance reduced by a scalar of 60% (i.e. 25% base cure chance becomes 10% cure chance)

Cure and Arch Cure Spell Chances
* Chance to Cure = ((150% - (Poison Level * 25%)) * (Magery Skill / 100))

Poison Resistance
* Many creatures have a Poison Resistance stat (listed as a percentage % value, but will not resist poison cast from players, only a chance to resist each tick of damage
* Players may temporarily receive Poison Resistance through skills such as Taste ID and various item effects
* Poison Resistance on creatures is checked on a Per Poison Tick Basis, so abilities/effects that trigger multiple Poison Ticks to be resolved at once (such as Poison Strike/Poison Aspect Weapon or Spell Proc) will make multiple Poison Resistance checks against each tick being resolved, rather than a single Poison Resistance check that would nullify the entire stack of Poison Ticks

Poison Kit
Players can craft Poison Kits with the Alchemy skill, which is a Blessed item that allow players to customize the handling of their Poison Effects towards creatures (these bonuses will never affect players)

Poisoned Weapons
* Chance to inflict poison on target is flat 25% for Lesser, Regular, Greater, and Deadly Poisoned weapons
* Players need 95 Printed Poisoning skill or higher to use any Lethal Poisoned weapon
* The chance for a player to apply Weapon Poison (including Lethal) to a creature is now 25% + (Effective Poisoning Skill / 4 %) patch Feb 14,2020
* Player wielding a weapon with Lethal Poison must have at least 100 Poisoning skill in order to inflict it on targets
* Chance to not lose poison charge on a failed infliction check is (50% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
* Chance for player to cure poison that was inflicted by a player with poisoning is reduced by (25% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
* If a creature is hit by a poisoned weapon, but the creature is already poisoned with an equal or higher poison level than what's on the weapon, no poison attempt will be made with the weapon (and no poison charges will be lost)
* Players with Poisoning skill use fractional amounts of Poison Charges when inflicting poison with a weapon onto a creature
* Players will lose (1 - (0.50 * (Effective Poisoning Skill / 100)) Poison Charges when inflicting poison from a weapon onto a creature
* A minimum of 0.20 Poison Charges are used on each poisoning attempt (if players have bonuses to Effective Poisoning Skill such as through Mastery Chain Links)
* Players may attempt to apply poison to weapons by single-clicking the weapon with poison potions in their inventory. Available poison types will be listed in the context menu.

Poison Spellcasting
* Poison spell when cast by creatures will be at Lesser Poison
* Poison spell and Poison Field spells cast by players default to Regular Poison
* A player's effective Poisoning skill for spellcasting is capped by their Magery skill (players may go above 100 Poisoning at 100 Magery however)
* Players must have at least 60 Poisoning to upgrade poison level to Greater Poison
* Players must have at least 80 Poisoning to upgrade poison level to Deadly Poison
* Players must have at least 100 Poisoning, as well as 100 Magery, to have a chance to upgrade to Lethal Poison
* Upgrading to Greater Poison will cost 1 extra nightshade and 2 extra nightshade for Deadly Poison (the spell's poison will not upgrade if player does not have sufficient nightshade)
* Players are able to cast Lethal Poison, onto both creatures and players
* In order to be able to upgrade to Lethal poison, the player must have a Lethal Poison potion in their backpack (if they do not have, they cannot upgrade to Lethal Poison)
* On a successful Lethal Poison upgrade cast, there is a 20% chance a Lethal Poison potion in their backpack will be consumed (and players will be notified); this chance is increased to 40% in PvP
* Casting Lethal Poison will require consumption of 3 extra Nightshade if no Lethal Poison Potion is required for the spellcast (similar to upgrading to Greater Poison taking 1 extra nightshade, and upgrading to Deadly Poison taking 2 extra nightshade)

PvM Bonuses
The chance for players to upgrade spell poison levels against creatures are:

Deadly
(50% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
Lethal

PvP Bonuses
The chance for players to upgrade spell poison levels against other players, including distance, are:

Poison
Distance from Target
Greater
(50% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))

Deadly
(25% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
0-8 Tiles
Lethal
(10% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
0-4 Tiles

Poison Tolerance
The handling on Poison Tolerance is as follows:

* Whenever a player or tamed/summoned creature inflicts Greater Poison or above on another player, it applies a cumulative Poison Tolerance effect on the victim that lasts 5 minutes
* A player can have multiple Poison Tolerance effects stacked on them, and each Poison Tolerance effect has their own independent duration timer
* Poison Tolerance reduces the chance for ANY opposing players to Upgrade Poison Spellcasts OR Apply Melee Weapon Poison against them (i.e. a player with a 25% upgrade/application chance against a player with 50% poison tolerance would now have a 12.5% upgrade/application chance)
* Players can at most receive 50% Poison Tolerance from stacked effects
* Poison Tolerance has no effect in the Arena

Poison Tolerance increases as follows:

Poison Tolerance for 5 Min.
Greater
+5%
Deadly
+10%
Lethal
+15%

Failure to Upgrade: Poison Sting
If a Poison spell hits an already poisoned target, and fails to upgrade the target's poison to a higher level than what it already has on them (which will always be the case if the target has Lethal poison), the target will instead take 10 * (((Caster Poisoning Skill + Caster Taste ID Skill) * 0.5) / 100) Damage, which will be roughly equivalent to Fireball damage when cast by a Poison Mage template.

We'll refer to this damage as Poison Sting damage. Poison Sting damage itself will not cause an interrupt to the target, but the normal interrupt handling for the Poison Spell will be in place as before (i.e. normal handling for being a 3rd circle offensive spell). The Poison Sting mechanic will apply when casting the spell onto both creatures and players.

Poison Stacking
* Every non-tamed/non-summoned creature can now have multiple Poison effects stacked on them, with the following rules:
* Creatures will only ever have one Poison Type active on them at a time (i.e Lesser, Regular, Greater, Deadly, Lethal)
* Each Player is allowed to apply poison onto an already poisoned creature so long as it is the same poison level
* Each Player is also allowed to have one of their followers apply Poison onto an already poisoned creature so long as it is the same poison level
* If a Player or Player Follower applies a higher level poison than what is currently on a creature, it will clear out the poison of all other players/followers currently stacked on it
* Poisoned creatures will track individual Tick Count Remaining amounts for each player/creature that poisoned it (which starts at Tick 0 and ends at Tick 10)
* A poisoned creature will use a single timer to resolve all Poison Ticks at the same time (i.e. every 5 seconds a Lethal Poisoned creature will resolve multiple creature/player poison ticks on it at once)
* A creature will be considered Poisoned, and have a Green status health bar, so long as any creature/player has any Poison Ticks remaining on it
* Any bonuses players/followers have towards increasing Poison Damage or boosting Poison Effects will only apply to their own individual Poison Ticks resolving (i.e. all players don't get a bonus to Poison Damage on a creature due to a single player using Mind Rot or having Poison Mastery Chain Links/Aspect)

Poison Text Visuals
Creature Poison Single Click
* Players can toggle whether to display single-click overhead Poison text for creatures by typing [SingleClickPoisonTicks or by navigating to Paperdoll -> Help -> Commands -> Mechanics -> SingleClickPoisonTicks
* Players can see what Type of Poison they individually have on a creature as well as how many Poison Ticks they have remaining on the creature by single-clicking or doing All Names

* If a creature is currently poisoned, but the player themselves doesn't have any poison applied on the target, single-clicking the creature or doing All Names will simply display what type of Poison is currently active on it (i.e poison from other players/creatures)

Creature Poison Overhead Messages
* In order to reduce the amount of overhead text spam related to the new poison stacking mechanics, some changes have been made to overhead text messages derived from Poison for creatures

Applying Poison
* When Poison is applied to a creature, it will only display the "Creature X is wracked in extreme pain"-type message overhead to the player who applied the Poison
* Tamed/Summoned Creatures that become poisoned, however, will always still display these messages to their controller

Resolving Poison Ticks
* The "Creature X is wracked in extreme pain"-type message that occurs when resolving Poison Ticks for creatures will now only display to players who have poison active on the creature
* Tamed/Summoned Creatures that are poisoned, however, will always still display these messages to their controller

Creature Poison Overriding
* If another player or creature applies a Higher level of Poison than what is currently on the target, all other players who previously had a lower level Poison effect active on the creature will see a "*poison overridden*" message displayed above the creature for them (indicating their Poison on the creature has now been wiped out)

Creature Poison Tick Completion
* When a player's 10th (Final) Poison Tick resolves on a creature, they will see a "*poison complete*" message displayed over the creature (indicating their poison effect has ended on the creature)
Description
Venture here only if you are true to the Virtues and shielded thusly, for there is nothing even remotely virtuous within the forsaken halls of the Mausoleum.
The Mausoleum appears to have been, at one point in history, a mass grave for some unknown city or civilization, presumably that existed before the rise of the modern cities of Prevalia, Cambria, and Andaria. However, a sinister cult has entrenched their roots deep here, no doubt drawn simultaneously by the protection of the massive stone walls and the large abundance of corpses to use in their most unholy of rituals and experiments.

I peered into the final chamber on the western side and glimpsed the being that is named only in the hushed whispers of captured cultists as “the Gatekeeper”. Absolutely nothing is known of this entity, nor is it known what this gate is or what lies beyond. I surmise the insanity-inducing empty space is perhaps the gate… but what lies beyond it? I fear to glimpse such things is beyond the comprehension of the mere human mind.
Description
You will find the dungeon of Nusero located on the aptly-named Nusero Island. You will need to travel by boat or through magical means to find your way here. On the most northern-side of the island, you must pass through a cavern and cross a bridge to locate the entrance. Interestingly enough, it would appear that this dungeon might have been discovered perhaps by mistake. If it were not for the work of intrepid miners and explorers clearing out the northern mountain of its precious ore and stone, perhaps the entrance to this cursed hole would still be sealed. But, alas, what's done is done and this vile place now lies exposed for any adventurer, green or harty.

The story of Nusero at present remains largely unknown. Much of the dungeon was made naturally and over time, the flow of water on the upper floors and the heat and molten effect of the lava on the lower all helped shape the twisting tunnels and offshoot branches of caverns. But there, at the bottom, lies something indisputably man-made.
Description
Due to the location of the Dam, it is not entirely clear whether it falls under the jurisdiction of Prevalia or Andaria (being located betwixt the two nations). I believe this structure was built after the unification of Upper and Lower Prevalia, when the Prevalian Emperor was keen on expanding influence and land-ownership (perhaps somewhere between 250 AC and 270 AC). The great Dam of Pulma was initially created by Prevalian craftsmen with the intention of preventing the flooding of the northern Prevalian lands. It was intimated that the Andarians were not particularly pleased with this, as it removed a natural barrier between Prevalia and themselves. In the wake of Pulma’s construction, Andaria created the Andarian Gate that separates the two lands. As such, the Dungeon of Pulma is not terribly old, at least not in comparison to areas such as Mount Petram and the Ossuary, which are quite ancient.

Should you decide to venture down into the deepest depths, you can traverse further downward in a long aqueduct. A connecting channel will ultimately lead you to the Ancient Drowned Dragon chamber.
This chamber is a mystery to me. The Ancient Drowned Dragon seems to be a fair bit older than the dungeon itself, which raises the questions as to how it got here and why is it here?
Venture here only if you are true to the Virtues and shielded thusly, for there is nothing even remotely virtuous within the forsaken halls of the Mausoleum.
The Mausoleum appears to have been, at one point in history, a mass grave for some unknown city or civilization, presumably that existed before the rise of the modern cities of Prevalia, Cambria, and Andaria. However, a sinister cult has entrenched their roots deep here, no doubt drawn simultaneously by the protection of the massive stone walls and the large abundance of corpses to use in their most unholy of rituals and experiments.

The History of Pulma

Description
Instead of being of atypical sedimentary rock, Mount Petram appears to initially consist of igneous rock, particularly andesite but upon closer examination I suspect that there is a great deal of regional metamorphic rock, which forms deep underground and can emerge when subjected to immense pressure. This would make the name “Mount Petram” particularly on-the-nose as, when translated, it means “Mount Rock”.
At the heart of this colossal cavern lives the Terathan Goliath. Very little is known about this massive beast.
The History of Mount Petram
Upon initial inspection of the entrance area to this dungeon, it is easy to notice that the type of rock in the area is different than the surrounding lands.

What this suggests is that Mount Petram did not form like most mountains, nor did it necessarily erupt into existence like Inferno. Instead, much of it formed deep beneath the surface and something occurred, most likely naturally but there is no guarantee of that, which created a huge amount of pressure in the area, thus forcing a large bulge in the earth that we now know as Mount Petram.

The unique features and strangeness of this mountain seems to have attracted a number of creatures, both intelligent and not, to take up residence within. There now exists clear evidence of man-made structures chiseled into the rock, though I can’t be sure exactly how old these are, or their origins.

My first impression upon entering Mount Petram was that it reminded me an awful lot of a similar location I once knew in Britannia: the dungeon Shame. Geographically, both dungeons occupy roughly the same areas of their respective worlds, though I do believe Shame was a mine in origin, whereas Mount Petram does not have any such evidence of such. But what really hardened my suspicions of similarities was the abundance of elemental beings that can be found throughout both dungeons. Perhaps a mere coincidence, or perhaps what is known as Mount Petram in Avadon is the twisted and deformed version of Shame in Britannia. However, that is about as far as the similarities go, it would seem.

You will also notice that the temperature here is warmer and the air moister, though neither uncomfortably so. In fact, as you venture past the more developed Terathans and Minotaurs, you will find all sorts of strange and exotic (not to mention dangerous) vegetative life thriving!

It can’t be understated that there are certain aspects of these places so far below the surface that are simply breathtakingly beautiful. It is easy to let your guard down and indulge in the sights and wonders that fill this monstrous cavern, but it would be foolish to do so because the creatures that dwell down here are old and powerful.

As you make your way around towards the north-eastern side, you will encounter something peculiar. A magic circle and a couple of Petram cultists. I surmise that these cultists are perhaps descendants of those who initially carved out the structures within Mount Petram, though it is impossible to say for sure as they are extremely secretive and hostile towards any interlopers. Beyond this magic circle you may encounter what is known as the “Lodestone.” This is a form of ancient golem it would appear, and very strong! What purpose this being serves is unclear; it is possibly a remnant of the people who carved out these halls, a guardian left to protect something that nobody now remembers.

The deepest known segment of Mount Petram is a grand, man-carved sanctum. Here we find very interesting idolatry that simply does not exist anywhere else throughout the mountain. The man-made idols elsewhere are crude, covered in druidic runes. The idols in this one area are intricate and massive, reflecting the artistic stylings of modern sculptures as opposed to the primitive deifications of the previous. Not just the statues, but the very stonework itself is far more refined here. It is quite possible that this segment of cavern was carved closer to present day than the other segments. Perhaps the Petram cultists have taken upon themselves to continue the work of their ancestors?

I could not recognize the stone figures. No doubt they are of great importance to those who carved them, but they do not bear resemblance to anybody of import as we would associate with on the surface. At the heart of this colossal cavern lives the Terathan Goliath. Very little is known about this massive beast. It is also not known if the Goliath is in servitude to the Petram cultists, or maybe is the reason why so few cultists remain. The idols in the Goliath Sanctum also remain a mystery.

The History of The Mausoleum
Upon entering the region in which the Mausoleum resides, you can instantly tell that there is something incredibly foul about this place. The fetid and rank graveyard nearby is swarming with garden-variety undead, but they are not the menace here. I spied a most peculiar bald-headed man peering down through a window atop the entrance of the Mausoleum. He reeked of death and decay. I was set on edge before even making my reluctant journey here by tales and stories of inhuman aberrations, unfathomable entities, and extremely dark magic.

When I put the Prevalian and Cambrian locals to question, none were really certain as to what this cult was that resided in the Mausoleum, or their specific intents. Some say that they are mere necromancers practicing their craft, others say they come from another Realm entirely. A few stories state that this particular cult existed before Avadon was shaped into what it is now. Still, a few whisper about how this cult is in service to the Guardian himself.

The methods employed by this cult of reanimators differs from other methods I have borne witness to. The cult of the Mausoleum is brutish and savage, lacking any semblance of the sacred. Dead bodies are butchered like cattle, reassembled in unnatural ways, discarded unceremoniously. It makes me shudder to recall what I’ve seen even here.

Deeper sections of the dungeon clearly hold some sort of religious purpose for the cult, though I was unable to witness any rites during my studies. I have little doubt in my mind that outsiders would simply not be tolerated here (and, in fact, might find themselves disassembled for their intrusion).

Down in the darkest corners of the Mausoleum, you will encounter the eldest and most feral of the cult’s experiments. It is curious to me that I did not espy a single cultist down here, making me wonder as to the reason. Are these twisted souls hostile towards the cultists? Or are the cultists simply keeping their distance from something? With that question in my mind, I pushed forward.

It is said that a giant, writhing mass of tentacles known as the Insatiable Maw emerges on unknown occasions from a pit. It is generally said that the cult will feed it body parts and failed experiments. Perhaps this is an offering to something that they feel is a deity? I cannot say. I just know that I do not wish to be present when it emerges from its pit.

Further down you will find a small area for worship. Since the reanimator cultists do not venture down this far, I must ponder as to who uses this… is it the vampires who lurk here? If they are the ones in attendance to worship, then who or what are they worshipping? I suspect that their deity lies in the section beyond…

This place…

I first thought I was making my way into another infernal library, as the north and south ends of this area contain many books, but after further investigation I simply can’t say for sure what this is.
I first picked up a book off of one of the shelves to examine it. These books were nothing like any I have seen. Instead of words, the pages contained shapes, but… they were not real shapes; not shapes that can exist. They shouldn’t exist. They were impossible shapes that, when looked upon, make you go dizzy simply trying to comprehend how they can exist upon the page at all. I could only bare to gaze at the page for but a brief moment before closing the tome, lest I vomit all over it. What could possibly read such books? What could possibly write them, if writing is truly what that even was?

But as I made my way further, I was met with another terror of an incorporeal sort. I made the mistake of peering through the slats in the stone walls and beyond… was nothing.
I know that must sound truly insane to be so troubled by nothing, but it was not truly nothing so much as an infinite expanse. A distance so impossibly vast, and so incredibly empty that you could scream (as I did) into it and there is nothing to reflect back the sound of your voice; it merely gets swallowed by the nothingness.

I don’t know how long I stood there, unable to not comprehend what lay beyond the slat in the wall, but eventually I came to my senses about a stone lighter, and a bit more stubble upon my chin than I recall having.
I knew I could not stay in this place much longer, but I needed to be thorough since my geological study suggested there should be one last chamber here. I peered into this final chamber on the western side and glimpsed the being that is named only in the hushed whispers of captured cultists as “the Gatekeeper”. Absolutely nothing is known of this entity, nor is it known what this gate is or what lies beyond. I surmise the insanity-inducing empty space is perhaps the gate… but what lies beyond it? I fear to glimpse such things is beyond the comprehension of the mere human mind.

I am not sure what happened next.

I just know that I found myself atop Humility Shrine, soaked in swamp muck and missing all of my belongings that I began my explorations with. Curious, I looked at my journal in which I take extensive notes of my explorations only to find scribbled repeatedly in my own hand “It is coming.”

What this could mean or refer to, I do not know. I just know that I will not venture back into the Mausoleum again.
The History of the Ossuary
This vile tomb is home to some truly heinous creatures, and the sandstone walls of this temple have seen the truest of horrors unfold. This place is full of death, so prepare yourself for the cruel tortures that lie beneath the sands.

The dungeon of Ossuary is not terribly difficult to find. Should you head due west from Cambria, you will eventually find yourself in a not-so-barren desert, and there in the southern hemisphere of said desert lies the Ossuary, surrounded by the ruins of a sandstone township of a forgotten name.

The origin of this dungeon currently remains a mystery. I do believe the Ossuary to be rather old; that is to say, the original base of this hellish temple is old. The town that surrounds the outside I believe to be of newer construction, and much of the tomb inside has been repurposed by some of its current inhabitants.

A great deal of the Ossuary’s purpose and the current occupant’s motives remain a mystery. The Ossuarian cultists are not particularly keen on talking with outsiders, and will attack on sight.
It is generally known that cults have formed in worship of the ancient evil wizard Mondain, and it is believed that the Shadowlords lurk within this Realm, manipulating events and gathering followers.
It would not be a grand leap in logic to suggest that the Ossuarian cultists are some sort of followers of one of the Shadowlords or perhaps Mondain himself. The macabre rituals and deep study and practice of Necromantic practices could be a means to an end, to bring Mondain back from the dead.

It is known that the Forgotten King himself at times rises from the piles of bones and wanders his ancient halls. It is not known who this King was (otherwise his name would not be the Forgotten King). It could even conceivably be that the Forgotten King is the ancient king of Akalabeth and Mondain’s father, King Wolfgang. That might be a bit far of a reach, however. It might even be that the cultists were drawn to this spot through some ebb and flow of an ancient evil artifact such as the skull of Mondain.

Why the Ossuarian cultists chose this site specifically can only be guessed at. Until then, though, it might be best to stay clear of the Ossuary unless you wish to risk becoming one of the cult’s blood sacrifices.

The History of Pulma
Before detailing why the most unholy of daemonic machines may lurk far below the depths of these waters, I will first start by sharing some of the known history of Pulma.

Due to the location of the Dam, it is not entirely clear whether it falls under the jurisdiction of Prevalia or Andaria (being located betwixt the two nations), and I suspect it is a bit of a point of contention.
Although there are no easy-to-find records, I believe this structure was built after the unification of Upper and Lower Prevalia, when the Prevalian Emperor was keen on expanding influence and land-ownership (perhaps somewhere between 250 AC and 270 AC).

It begs the question, then, as to what exactly happened between the time it was constructed and now? Why is this place full of creatures and mechanical servants?

Just inside the dam, you will catch your first glimpses of the “Precursors”. These “people are unlike any other that I have borne witness to. A fusion of strange technology and flesh, their primary purpose seems to be the creation and maintenance of mechanical guardian constructs. What they are guarding won’t be discovered unless you travel further down into the depths of Pulma. You will find stronger natural creatures here, as well as the results of the Precursor’s experiments and their machines. You should not travel down this far unless you are extremely capable of defending yourself!

Should you decide to venture down into the deepest depths, you will find a pool in the center of a room. Although this pool is full of drowned dragons (I suspect these are the results of some of the Precursor’s experiments), should you brave them and are capable of holding your breath a good long while, you can traverse further downward in a long aqueduct. A connecting channel will ultimately lead you to the Ancient Drowned Dragon chamber.

This chamber is a mystery to me. The Ancient Drowned Dragon seems to be a fair bit older than the dungeon itself, which raises the questions as to how it got here and why is it here? I have my suspicion that the answers are somehow connected to the most peculiar statue in the center of the northern side of the room. The statue is of the legendary Medusa. What the connection is, I could not say. I found no further evidence or contextual clues that connects the Ancient Drowned Dragon or the Medusa Statue to the rest of Pulma. It is quite possible that the Ancient Drowned Dragon is somehow connected to the statue, but in what way I simply do not know.
You might also discover the Great Sunken Serpent Lair.

It would appear that these great beasts are creatures of opportunity. This great cistern seems entirely untouched by the Precursors; perhaps because it is so well hidden away, or perhaps because they have no need or interest in it. The Great Sunken Serpents created their nest here in isolation.

I would not expect scholars native to only Avadon to recognize the signs of the corruption of Exodus within the halls of the Pulma dam. For the edification of those scholars and any savvy adventurer or explorer who is unaware of Britannian history as it exists among almost all other Shards of the Gem of Immortality, allow me to explain the nature of Exodus.
In Britannia, Exodus (a being created of advanced technology believed to be obtained via time travel) laid dormant beneath the ocean, hidden away after the defeat of Mondain and Minax. It slowly gathered information about the outside world. It slowly learned. Over the course of a few decades, it learned everything it needed to know to emerge and unleash horrors upon the lands of Britannia, ushering in what Britannian historians called the Third Age of Darkness (a time period that Avadon has not experienced, at least not yet).

It is worrying that no evidence of the remains of Exodus had ever been recovered since the fall of Mondain and Minax. This suggests that Exodus still exists within Avadon.
This conclusion leads to the next: The Precursors. For clarification, a “Precursor” is something that comes before whatever is next. The fact that these Precursors have an affinity for, and access to, technology that exists nowhere else in the world greatly leads me to believe that they are the eyes and ears of Exodus. His hands and nose. His senses in which he learns about Avadon. The experiments that they conduct, the observations that they make all allow Exodus to learn, just as he learned in Britannia. There is no doubt in my mind that the sacrifices or offerings made by the Precursor Sorcerers are in the service of Exodus.

I can only hope that I am terribly wrong.

The History of Nusero

Upon approach to the main entrance, three sets of statues display a clue as to what sorts of creatures the astute will find within. The first set of statues depict the Stonescale Lizardman Tribe, a group of Lizardmen thought to have gone extinct from this Realm ages past; but no, they have persevered and thrived in the heat-infused darkness of the caverns below. The second set of statues depict Ophidians, the snake-like creatures known throughout Britannia - which is curious to me, as Avadon is not Britannia, so there is great mystery as to why or how the Ophidians are here. The last set of statues depict the most dangerous threats that lurk within: dragons.

The first part of Nusero is relatively cool in comparison to the lower levels, and you will find pools of water abound, which sustains the local fauna. Further down, you will likely note that the ambient heat begins to rise.
It is not entirely certain who made this place, the best theory is that this was constructed by members of the Knight's Guild some 600 years past, due to a mishap with a black moongate when they attempted to come to Avadon initially. The architecture and structure, as old as it is, is nearly identical to the more modern structures created by this group of Knights. Further evidence exists a short ways south of the main entrance to Nusero as well in the form of an ancient statue being unearthed presently by the Knights.

It's generally believed that this world of Avadon is largely different than the many forms of Britannia that inhabit numerous other pieces of the Gem of Immortality. Although parts of Britannian geography can be recognized in Avadon, much of the greater world does not resemble Britannia. This difference is theoretically attributed to the approximate distance this shard was from Mondain's body upon his death. In most forms of Britannian history, after the death of Mondain, a civilization formed amidst the ruins of the realm once known as the "Lands of Danger and Despair" (thereafter known as the Serpent Isle), called the Ophidians. These Ophidians had a strong affinity for serpents and worshipped the Great Hierophant, a powerful serpent deity. But, more to the point, they created three underground cities: Skullcrusher, Spinebreaker, and Furnace.

One theory I propose is that the Nusero of Avadon is the twisted version of what might have been one of these three underground cities, similar to how Cambria is a different form of Trinsic, or Andaria is a different form of Britain.

Lore
Upon entering the region in which the Mausoleum resides, you can instantly tell that there is something incredibly foul about this place. The fetid and rank graveyard nearby is swarming with garden-variety undead, but they are not the menace here. I spied a most peculiar bald-headed man peering down through a window atop the entrance of the Mausoleum. He reeked of death and decay. I was set on edge before even making my reluctant journey here by tales and stories of inhuman aberrations, unfathomable entities, and extremely dark magic.

Lore
Upon initial inspection of the entrance area to this dungeon, it is easy to notice that the type of rock in the area is different than the surrounding lands.

Lore

Lore

Lore
