Summary
- The Strangelands is a combination PvM and PvP event with a mix of Survival and Hunger Games gameplay
- It is a Lawless Zone, meaning all players may freely attack each other or commit criminal actions against each other without penalty
- Strangelands occur 4 days a week on:
- Tuesdays at 10AM and 10PM EDT
- Thursdays at 10AM and 10PM EDT
- Saturdays at 2AM and 2PM EDT
- Sundays at 2AM and 2PM EDT
Players are limited to playing 4 Strangelands events per week.
Strangelands events per week reset on Fridays at 7:00 PM EST / Saturday 11:00 PM GMT (Same time as Society Jobs)
- Each Strangelands bout lasts 40 minutes
- Players can earn up to 12 Strangelands Reward Points per event and the top player receives a bonus 3 Strangelands Reward Points
- The goal of Strangelands is to end the event with as many points as possible
- Players earn points through Survival and by Depositing Trophies
More Details
- Players who attempt to enter Strangelands while mounted will automatically have their Mount stashed (similar to entering a dungeon)
- Players who have Followers (non-Mounted) in the game world will be reminded via system message when using a Strangelands Gate that they must first Stable those followers before they can enter Strangelands
- Players entering Strangelands will automatically leave any Parties they are in
- Players will not be allowed to join Parties while in Strangelands
- When entering Strangelands, a player's current Stats, Skills, and Items are "stored" and will adopt the Stats, Skills, and Starting Items listed in their selected Strangelands Template chosen on the previous page
- When leaving Strangelands, a player's original "stored" Stats, Skills, and Items are returned to them
- All players, even in the same guild or alliance, will display to each other with the name "a stranger" and will appear as Grey to each other
Strangelands Moongates
- When a Strangelands event is scheduled to begin, Strangelands Gates will appear throughout towns and players may double-click them to access the Strangelands Menu for the event
- Players can also type [Strangelands to open the Strangelands Menu at anytime
- Players can exit a Strangelands event in progress early by clicking the "Exit Strangelands" button in the menu
- Players can view the Score and Stats of the last completed (not current one in progress) Strangelands event by clicking "View Scores for Strangelands" button

- Tunnel Rats are equipped with Blasting Powder, which is an unlimited use item that will inflict 125-250 damage to a targeted Supply Container, with a 1 minute cooldown in between uses
- Tunnel Rats are also equipped with a Tunnel Rat Shovel, which is an unlimited use Tunnel Shovel that has a 5 minute cooldown in between uses
- Tunnel Rats can also use the Detect Hidden skill to locate existing Tunnels on the map and utilize those as well
- While the character cannot directly activate the Hiding skill, each time the player uses a Tunnel or Tunnel Rat Shovel they automatically are Hidden and immediately enter into Stealth (which will then allow them to perform Stealth movement and make Backstab attacks on enemies)
Strangelands Hotbar
Hunger and Thirst will each increase by a randomized 5-10 points every minute.
All players have a Strangelands Hotbar which appears on their screen and is updated periodically during the event. The Hotbar will display the following stats:
- Hunger level
- Thirst level
- Total Points earned
Relieving Hunger
Mushrooms
- Players can double-click or lift any Mushrooms to harvest them
- Mushrooms have an accompanying animation to make them more easily noticeable
- Eating a Small Mushroom will reduce your Hunger level by 10
- Eating a Large Mushroom will reduce your Hunger level by 20
- Players score 1 point by harvesting a Small Mushroom
- Players score 10 points by harvesting a Large Mushroom
- Players score 20 points by harvesting a Massive Mushroom
Meat
- Killing creatures will yield Raw Meat which can be eaten to reduce your Hunger level by varying amounts
- Players may encounter 'grey' colored meat, which when eaten will restore hunger but inflict 'Disease' on the player
Relieving Thirst
Rainwater
- Players can double-click or lift any Rainwater item to harvest a Bottle of Water
- Drinking this item will reduce your Thirst level by 10
- Players score 1 point for harvesting Rainwater
Supply Containers
- Players may encounter Supply Containers which can be double-clicked to break open, yielding a variety of items
- Poor Quality Supply Containers will always drop Medium Trophies
- Exceptional Quality Supply Containers will always drop Large Trophies
Items
- All starting items are Blessed and will respawn with them upon death
- Blessed items cannot be equipped, used, or activated by anyone other than their original owner
- Some characters will start with Blessed consumables such as Potions or Arrows
- These items have an unlimited number of uses but cannot be stacked with any non-Blessed versions of the same item type
- Items placed on the ground in Strangelands will decay in 10 minutes
- Many different items can be found within Storage Caches and creature corpses
Tunnels
- Players should keep an eye out for Tunnels appearing in random locations
- By moving over or double-clicking a Tunnel the player will be teleported to another random Tunnel location where they will be hidden for 30 seconds
- Using a Tunnel removes both the entrance and the exit from the map
- Every 5 minutes, all existing Tunnels are removed and new Tunnels are placed throughout the map
- All players begin with two Tunnel Shovels, which may be used once during the event to teleport to a random Tunnel location where the player will remain hidden for 5 minutes
- Using a Tunnel or Tunnel Shovel will not reveal the player, and will place a Tunnel Rat Template character immediately into Stealth
Storage Caches
- Players can double-click a Storage Cache to automatically score all Trophies in their backpack
- Players can drop and deposit any number of items into any Storage Cache. When a player dies, all items they have deposited across all Storage Caches on the map are placed into their backpack
- Players can also use Storage Caches to deposit and score Trophies
- Unlike Tunnels, Storage Caches do not change their location once spawned
Player Activity
Players are considered to be "Active" for the next 5 minutes and earn 50 Points after any of the following actions in the last 5 minutes:
- Harvest a Small or Large Mushroom
- Harvest Rainwater
- Broken open a Supply Container
- Use a Tunnel
- Killed a Creature
Resurrection
- When a player dies, they will automatically be resurrected at a random spawn location where they will be hidden for 30 seconds
- When a player respawns after dying in Strangelands, they will receive replacement versions of any of their Starter gear that they no longer are carrying (i.e. any Blessed gear they have dropped)
Strangelands Creatures
- Every 5-15 minutes (randomized) in Strangelands, a Strangehell Plant and 2 Strangehell Vines will spawn near players, with extra likeliness of spawning near medium or large groupings of players
- Strangehell Plants and Vines are fairly difficult and have only limited rewards (1 Large Mushroom for Plants and 1 Small Mushroom for Vines), and largely act as a predatory mechanic towards groupings of players
- Strangehell Plant Clusters (Spikebushes, Deathstalks, Lashweeds, Vines) spawn at random intervals, and will randomly appear near groupings of players with spawn chances heavily weighted by the size of the group
- Whenever a Strangehell Plant Cluster spawns, each of the players of the group that caused the spawn to occur will take on a cumulative 5% score penalty that will adjust their final score at the end of the event
- Players will receive a "Your proximity to other strangers attracts a strangehell plant cluster! (5% cumulative score penalty)" message when Strangehell Plant Clusters spawn near them, with the cumulative score penalty amount adjusted for each player
- Strangehell Plants will have drastically increased aggro towards players who were part of the group that caused them to initially spawn
- Additionally, Strangehell Plants that are not killed will search out and respawn near members of the initial group that spawned them through the remainder of the match at random intervals (this respawning will NOT result in increasing their score penalty for grouping, however)

- The first player to Lift a trophy from a creature corpse or container is considered to have "Claimed it"
- Anyone scoring a trophy they did not claim has it's Score value reduced by 25% of normal
- When a Creature is killed in Strangelands or any Supply Container is broken open, any players within 12 tiles of it who dealt damage to it will have a chance (based on damage % dealt among those players within 12 tiles) for the creature/container's trophy to appear in their backpack and they will be treated as the "owner" of it
- If no players who dealt damage to the creature/container are within 12 tiles of it upon death/breaking open, its trophy will appear on its corpse (or ground in the case of Supply Container) and the first player to loot it will be treated as it's owner
Skills
