Most damage modifiers on Outlands, such as skills and weapon bonuses, are calculated using a value called base damage. The starting point for base damage is your weapon. To view the base damage range of a weapon, use the Arms Lore skill on the weapon. When performing an attack, damage is first rolled within the base damage range. Base damage is then modified as follows depending on the target of the attack:

  • If attacking another player, the rolled base damage is used without modification.
  • If attacking a tamed creature, the rolled base damage is multiplied by 1.5.
  • If attacking a non-tamed creature, the rolled base damage is multiplied by 2.0.

The final result of this calculation is considered the base damage for all other formulas.
