Summary
- Corrupted Mastery Chain Links are a new type of Mastery Chain Link that players will encounter as loot in a handful of systems (such as Trade Caravans, Contested Bosses, Chaos Shrine, etc)
- Corrupted Links are slightly more powerful than Gold links in terms of bonuses provided, however they have a drawback in that they have a limited lifespan (referred to as "Usage Remaining")
- If a player is using a Mastery Chain that contains any Corrupted Mastery Chain Links, whenever they deal damage (or in some cases perform non-damaging activities such as lockpicking), each of their Corrupted Mastery Chain Links will have their Usage Remaining reduced
- Gold stolen from Pilfering and Mugging (stealing) will now count towards Corrupted Mastery Chain Link usage
Usage Remaining
- A Corrupted Link will reach 0% Usage Remaining after 5,000,000 damage has been inflicted by the player and their followers with that link installed
- Player can see how much Usage Remaining there is on any Corrupted Link by either single-clicking the link in their backpack, or by clicking the "Manage Links" button in their Mastery Chain Menu and navigating to the specific installed link
- Once a Corrupted Link reaches 0% Usage Remaining, it will no longer provide any bonuses to the player and will show up in the Mastery Chain Menu with a X and will have red text for its bonuses
- Players will receive an Overhead Notice if one of their Corrupted Links in their Mastery Chain has reached 0% Usage Remaining and becomes exhausted
- Players cannot restore the Usage Remaining amount on a Corrupted Link, so at 0% players should remove the link from their chain (and either keep them as souvenirs or throw them away)
Corrupted Link Compatibility
- Players can have any number of Corrupted Links inside a Mastery Chain
- However, players are restricted in that they cannot have any Corrupted Links that match any effect bonuses of any other Bronze, Silver, or Gold links also present in the chain (i.e. players cannot have a Corrupted Melee Accuracy link at the same time as a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Melee Accuracy Link)
- A player already has a Gold Melee Accuracy link in the chain, so the player is blocked from adding a Corrupted Link of the same bonus type
Corrupted Link Reforging Tools
- Players can change the bonus type of a Corrupted Mastery Chain link through usage of a Corrupted Link Reforging Tool
- Corrupted Link Reforging Tools can be crafted through Tinkering
- Double-clicking a Corrupted Link Reforging Tool and targeting a Corrupted Mastery Chain Link will bring up a menu allowing the player to rotate through all the possible link types and display their potential bonuses
- Clicking the Reforge Link button twice will convert the link to the selected new type permanently
