Using a Spyglass for Resource and Treasure Maps

Using a Spyglass for Fishing and Sailing

  • Spyglass Searches automatically search for all ocean object types (Ships, Fishing Spots, and Bosses) but players can filter which results are displayed
  • By default, players on the ocean will display as Orange to other players (unless they are Friendly to the player)
  • Any player who has 30 or more Infamy will display as Red in search results and in game (unless they are Friendly to the player)
  • The Spyglass Search Distance for player ships is 50% of the distance for NPCs
  • Minimum Search Range for Spyglasses is 50

  • Players can toggle a Continuous Search mode for Spyglasses that will automatically make Spyglass search attempts every 6 seconds using the last Spyglass item activated by the player
  • If a player's last active Spyglass is consumed or no longer in the player's backpack, it will search the player's backpack for the Spyglass with the best bonus, and attempt to search using it
  • If a player does not have a valid Spyglass available, or is no longer the Captain of a ship, Continuous Search mode will deactivate

Spyglass Cooldown

  • Double-clicking a Spyglass while in cooldown (6 seconds) will simply refresh the previous results but will not make a new Search Attempt (distances and directions displayed will still be based on the player's last search result)

Commands

  • Players can use the [Spyglass command to double-click the Spyglass in their backpack with the highest bonus value
  • Players can use the [SpyglassContinuous command to enable or disable the Continuous Search feature of Spyglasses on ships
