Description

  • The Parrying skill gives players a large chance to dramatically reduce the damage of incoming melee attacks and spells, while wielding either shields or two-handed weapons. Additionally, players can use Parrying to Taunt creatures, turning their aggression toward the taunting player (and away from allies).

Summary

  • Players may parry melee attacks with shields, two-handed weapons, paired weapons (wrestling/dual wielding) and parry daggers.
  • Weapon parrying will result in the weapon taking durability damage similar to shields, albeit at a reduced rate
  • Players with both 80 Magery and 80 Parrying or greater may cast spells and meditate with a shield (meditation rate will still be affected by the shield's meditation penalty)
  • Players with 80 Parrying and 80 Tactics or 80 Wrestling can use a Codex of Parrying
  • Armor rating provided from shields is (50% * Shield Base AR) + (50% * Shield Base AR * (Parrying Skill / 100))
  • Provides a (50% * (Effective Parry Skill / 100)) reduction to Stamina losses that occur due to taking damage
