Summary

Swordsmanship allows the use of bladed weapons with a swing speed between the faster Fencing weapons and slower Macing weapons.

  • All one-handed swords can be poisoned using the Poisoning skill
    • But no two-handed swords weapons can be poisoned.
  • The chance to hit with a swords class weapon is equal to (Player's Swordsmanship skill + 50) / ((Defender's Weapon or Wrestling skill + 50) * 2), plus any relevant accuracy bonuses


PvM Special Attack

  • Only works against creatures, not other players
  • Players have a 10% chance of inflicting a Swords Weapon Special Attack against creatures
  • Swords Weapon Specials apply a stackable 8% Lacerate Effect with a max effect of 24% on a target
  • Causes the target to take "Bleed" damage every 3 seconds for the next 15 seconds
    • On a normal attack; Bleed damage tick is 20% of the total weapon damage caused by the initial attack except as part of a backstab
    • On a backstab; Each Bleed damage tick is 20% of (33% * the total weapon damage caused by a successful Backstab with a sword weapon
  • Also applies a "Lacerate" effect
    • Lacerate increases the chance for players to inflict weapon special attacks against that creature by 8% for the next 8-16 seconds (scaled based on weapon speed)
    • A creature can have up to 3 Lacerate effects for a max of +24% chance to trigger weapon specials.

Swordsmanship Codex Stances, Finishers and Abilities

Stance Defensive Damage increased by 2% per rank and weapon swings increase your Damage Resistance to all enemies by 4% per rank for 5 seconds (does not stack)
Stance Cleave Deals 10% of Damage per rank towards a random enemy within 2 tiles
Stance Warrior Increases Accuracy, Defense, and Damage by 2% per rank
Stance Flaying Increases Melee Special Bleed amounts by 10% per rank
Finisher Bleed Out Applies a Bleed effect equal to 800% Damage
Finisher Execute Inflicts 600% of Damage to target and then immediately resolves up to 5 Bleed ticks present on target that has been inflicted by player
Weapon Ability Spinslash For next 15 seconds accuracy, damage, and weapon special chance increased by 15%
Weapon Ability Rend Immediately resolves up to 5 Bleed ticks present on target that has been inflicted by player. For next 15 seconds new weapon special bleed effects are increased by 50% damage
Weapon Ability Chop Melee hit that triggers ability has its damage increased by 250% (damage further scaled by weapon speed)
