Description

  • The Snooping skill allows players who are 'Red Hand' members of the Thieves Guild to peek into the inventory of other players. Players must have 80 skill or higher in Stealing and Snooping skill to join the Thieves Guild, which can be done from any Thief NPC. Players can choose to become 'Grey Hand' members of the Thieves Guild and gain access to a variety of tools and abilities to use against creatures, including improvements to Backstab attacks and 'Mugging' creatures for additional loot. Players can train Snooping skill from a Pickpocket dip.

Summary

  • Players have a (100% * (Snooping Skill / 100)) chance to successfully snoop another player's backpack and containers
  • Players when Snooping have a (100% - (75% * (Snooping Skill / 100)) chance to be noticed by nearby players within 8 tiles (which simply generates a "You notice X snooping Y" system message)
  • If the thief is Hiding while making Snooping attempts, no system message notifications will be displayed to other players (i.e. "You notice Luthius attempting to peak into Serathi's belongings")
  • A minimum of 80 Snooping skill is required to make any Stealing attempts
  • Players cannot make Stealing or Snooping attempts for 2 minutes after death
  • Players Snooping another player (main or other containers in the pack) will trigger a 1 second Snooping skill cooldown
  • Snooping requires line of sight of a container (cannot snoop from different levels of houses or dungeons)

Trapped Pouches

  • Players attempting to snoop a trapped pouch that is empty (no items inside) will be prevented from doing so
